When an ex reaches out unexpectedly in the middle of the night, 30 year old Ava decides she must confront the ghosts of her past head-on in order to regain control over her future. Heirlooms is a story about genetics. It is also about grief. And sort of about ghosts.
But mostly it’s about two siblings, each with a 50% chance of having Hungtington’s- a fatal genetic disorder causing neurological nerve cells to decay.
The siblings gather at their mother’s house on the eve of her funeral, and over the course of the weekend they decide if they want to face the cold hard truth of this genetic lottery.

Diane is confused. After a preventable accident lands her in the hospital, worrying signs of early stage dementia come to light. As Diane’s ability to remember faces and facts is questioned, Diane’s daughter, Hana, makes the difficult decision to return home and come face to face with her mother for the first time in 10 years, after a painful resolve to go “no contact” a decade prior. However, when each subsequent visit brings a new Hana embodied by a completely different actor, we are left to wonder if we are being tricked, or if we are seeing the world through Diane’s fragmented point of view.
